Shape is an emcee/ producer/ musician making independent hip-hop . He was born in San Diego, CA and moved to West Orange, NJ in 1992.

He grew up listening to Nirvana, punk rock and Wu-Tang Clan. In high school he played guitar in several punk and hardcore bands. He dropped out of school his Junior year to devote his life to music and art.

After travelling the country for several years he returned to New Jersey and worked odd jobs until he could save enough money to buy an MPC2000xl and a cheap 4-track recorder. After that he began recording hip-hop in various basements and bedrooms with his long time collaborator The Man From Somewhere Else.

Over the last decade Shape has recorded an unfathomable amount of material, only an iceberg's tip of which has been publicly released. He has self released several albums including 'The GLASS HOUSE LP,' 'Ghostpope' and 'Flower//Violence' and released 'Raised Near the Powerlines' on Division East Records. He continues to record constantly with frequent collaborators TMFSE, Atbash Cipher, G. Wallace, Pistol, GDP and Larry Hobson. He has worked with Jersey legends Tame One of The Weathermen and The Artifacts and Young Zee of The Outsidaz and countless other underground hip-hop artists.

Shape makes music using Protools, an MPC2000x, an ASR-88, a Korg Kaoss Pad and Reason 5, along with several keyboards and live instruments.
